Consulting Experience
Lisa has consulted on projects in a variety of subject areas, including health sciences, epidemiology, economics, and psychology. She has advised on study design, conducted analyses for clients, and assisted with reporting of the results, including reviewing manuscripts.
Some examples of prior consulting work include
applying a mixed model to the analysis of a phase 1 medical device clinical trial with a three-stage nested design
conducting an exploratory survival analysis for an observational study of health outcomes among patients with liver disease
advising on the appropriate outcomes and analysis methods as well as reviewing the manuscript draft for a psychology study of the relationship between age and fraud susceptibility
Other Work Experience
At the BC Cancer Research Centre, Lisa worked on a longitudinal observational study using administrative linked data. She employed propensity score matching to control for differences between the case and control groups and estimated mixed effects models to obtain treatment effect estimates. She has also worked in the private sector as a biostatistician for COVID-19 vaccine clinical trials, where she led a team of statistical programmers in generating reports for submission to the FDA. She now works at the University of British Columbia as a member of a research group in the School of Public Health. She is working on an analysis of an observational study, employing techniques for survival and longitudinal data.
Education
Lisa received a Bachelor of Science with Honours degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Victoria and a Master of Science degree from Simon Fraser University. During her master’s degree, her focus of study was longitudinal data analysis, specifically linear mixed effects models.
